Here’s an in-depth look at the first annual NPH Ontario Showcase over the first weekend of February 2012 at the ACTS Athlete Institute in Orangeville, Ont. The event lasted three days, and included a combine, strength and conditioning, live competition, a three-point shootout, a dunk competition and an all-star game. (I’m told there were more than a few dunks at the dunk off.)

Two other people, Max Haberstroh and Dillon Lobo, also put in some serious work on this little video. Other Ryerson jschool students might realize that a slightly different version of this video doubled as my third-year TV feature.

Lakehead players pose for the cameras

The Lakehead Thunderwolves won the 2011 Wilson Cup after beating the Carleton Ravens by the final score of 77-62 at McMaster University’s Burridge Gymnasium.

The win ends Carleton’s bid at a fourth straight Ontario University Athletics (OUA) title and gives, rather, Lakehead the first Wilson Cup of its history. « Read the rest of this entry »

Recently, Apple named Flipboard its app of the year for 2010.

Flipboard allows users to turn any webpage into magazine-like pages, said Chief Executive Mike McCue to the Los Angeles Times last December.
